Practical Information

We look forward to welcoming you to Paris and our new Campus Condorcet for the EuroSEAS 2022 conference.

Most of the EuroSEAS 2022 conference events will take place in two of Campus Condorcet’s buildings, both located less than two minutes away from the Front Populaire Metro station: the “Centre de Colloques” and “Recherche Sud” buildings, which are open from 8:00 to 21:00. Many participants are staying at the “Maison des Chercheurs”, which will welcome all of you at its Faculty Club during the whole time of the conference, if you need a cosy space to relax and meet up (on ground floor).

Please note that there are no computers available in any of the rooms. Panel, roundtable and laboratory conveners are responsible for providing a laptop with HDMI connection if they wish to use the videoprojection installation. This is also the case for the few hybrid panels that were approved.

In the following descriptions of the buildings, we are counting floors following the European system: 1st floor is the first floor above ground level.

Registration

Registration will be your first step at EuroSEAS 2022. Your name tag, participation certificate and a welcome bag will be given to you at our registration desk, located in the main hall of the “Centre de Colloques” building. The registration desk will be open from the afternoon of June 28th (check schedule for opening hours). For those of you who are staying on campus at Maison des Chercheurs, early registration on check-in will be available on request.

Eating and drinking

Due to campus regulations, food and drinks are unfortunately not welcome in the panel rooms, exhibition rooms, and auditoriums. You can enjoy your coffee in the Foyer, on the mezzanine, and in the many outdoor spaces located around the buildings, including the small garden between the Foyer and the Faculty Club, which is also fully available for all participants during the whole time of the conference (you are most welcome to sit there with the coffee you grabbed at the Foyer).

Welcome coffee
Coffee, drinks and snacks will be available for pick-up at the Foyer every morning as soon as the buildings open (8:00).

Coffee breaks
During breaks between sessions (one break in the morning, one break in the afternoon), coffee and drinks will be available for pick-up at the Foyer. Please be aware that the Foyer is unfortunately undersized and won’t be able to hold all participants together. Once you grabbed your coffee, feel free to use all the available spaces: the Faculty Club just across the garden, the mezzanine located right upstairs, and all the sitting spaces located around the “Centre de Colloques” and “Recherche Sud” buildings. We are unfortunately not allowed to serve coffee in the “Recherche Sud” building, but don’t worry: it is only a two-minute walk away from the Foyer.

Lunch
On June 29th and 30th, lunch will be offered to all participants at the CROUS university restaurant on the Northern side of the campus. A specific line will be reserved for EuroSEAS 2022 conference participants, all you need to do is to present your EuroSEAS name tag to the staff so you don’t have to pay (don’t forget to register!). Meat, fish and vegetarian options will be available. After lunch, coffee will be available for pick-up at the Foyer. On July 1st, lunch will be catered at Dock Eiffel, located 2 Rue du Coton, just a five minute walk from the “Centre de Colloques” building. Access maps to both catering locations are included in the print program and at the bottom of this page.

Lunch will be offered to the Masterclass participants on June 28th at Le Clos restaurant.

Water on campus
As a way to reduce the unavoidable environmental impact of a conference of this size, we are not providing plastic water bottles throughout the conference. However, your welcome bag will include a EuroSEAS 2022 flask so you can have water with you at any time. Please be aware that the campus was not designed with as many water fountains as it should… You will find one in front of the elevators at the 4th floor, one in the Foyer, and we will be happy to give you a refill at anytime at the counter of the Foyer. Restrooms at every floor will provide a reasonable back-up!

Information on transportation and accomodation is available on the Venue page.
